About Arun Valley Trekking
This is an adventurous trekking journey that combines the tranquil Arun Valley with the Dudh Kosi Valley of the Everest Region. The trek passes through an out-of-the-way, off the main route area that is spectacular. Along the way, visitors can enjoy magnificent sights of the Himalaya and rural villages surrounded by terraced fields and dense jungles.
The thrilling route of Arun Valley Trekking travels through several remote valleys to meet up with the main Everest trail at the high elevation airport of Lukla. Lukla is a day’s walk away from Namche Bazaar, the gateway to the Khumbu. The Arun Valley Trekking can be easily combined with one of our Everest Treks.
The scenic Arun Valley is located between two national parks of the Everest Region (Sagarmatha National Park) and Makalu Region (Makalu-Barun National Park). Trekking here is especially ideal for the biodiversity and cultural attractions. This journey takes trekkers off the beaten path and sees relatively few trekkers. It offers cultural interaction and insights that cannot be found on the busier and more commercialized routes. The welcoming people in the area are mainly Rai, Limbu, and Sherpa ethnicities.
The path of Arun Valley Trekking travels through serene forests and isolated territory and visitors will mostly have the remote trails to themselves! If you are feeling fit and looking for an adventure, then the Arun Valley Trekking is perfect for you!
We begin the journey with a scenic flight to Tumlingtar, a splendid village near the Arun River. Then we trek west through rural farmland. We cross several ridges on the way to Lukla with great views as you enjoy Nepal trekking at its best.
The Arun Valley Trekking is a camping journey. High Camp Adventure will arrange a crew of porters to transport provisions and gear, including food and a dining tent, tables, chairs, a toilet tent, and personal sleeping tents. Our skilled chef will provide the day’s meals and in the evening we will enjoy a magnificent camp under the stars, surrounded by the Himalaya and jaw-dropping surroundings while we enjoy a supper and a warm drink.
Please Note: Our Arun Valley Trekking has set departure dates from Kathmandu and this trek can be personalized to accommodate your specific wishes and timetable. Please take a look at our fixed departure dates for this trek. If they do not fit with your schedule, then please let us arrange an itinerary that is more suitable for you and your requirements.
There are many additional options for more exploration in the area. If you have the time and the interest, we can combine the trek with a journey to Makalu Base Camp or into the Khumbu including Everest Base Camp, Gokyo Lakes, a ‘Trekking Peaks’ and more.
