After arriving at Tribhuvan International Airport you will be transferred (check-in) to the hotel by a company representative. Our representative will brief you on the upcoming trip, the rest of the day can be spent sightseeing and enjoying the local surroundings and delicious local food.
Annapurna Circuit with Mesokanto Pass Trek Itinerary
Day 1 Arrival at Kathmandu Airport and transfer to hotel. Overnight at hotel.
Day 2 Drive from Kathmandu to Chamje (1,430 mt.). Driving 8-9 hours. Overnight at guest house.
Today, we move out of Kathmandu early to avoid traffic. The highways are infamous for its long hours of traffic and accidents so it’s best to move early morning. Lunch will be provided in a highway restaurant where cleanliness and hygiene are maintained. Upon reaching Chamje we will stay overnight at a guest house.
Day 3 Chamje to Dharapani (1,860 mt.). Walking 5-6 hours. Overnight at guest house.
After breakfast, we begin our walk to Dharapani. We will be passing through cute small thatched-roof houses of Gurung villages and will be crossing a waterfall which is popular with tourists. Overnight at guest house.
Day 4 Dharapani to Chame (2,670 mt.). Walking 4 hours. Overnight at guest house.
As we begin to ascend the hills, we will pass through lush green jungles and many fields with thick vegetation. If we are lucky we will be walking through forests of blooming rhododendrons with snow peaked caps of various mountains playing peekaboo throughout the path. Overnight at guest house.
Day 5 Chame to Pisang (3,300 mt.). Walking 5 ½ hours. Overnight at guest house.
After a good breakfast, we will make our way to Pisang from the district headquarters of Manang. Walking through the coniferous patches and beaten paths, the beauty of the Himalayas in beyond comprehension. When we reach Pisangthelucky then we will stay overnight at guest house.
Day 6 Pisang to Manang (3,540 mt.). Walking 5 hours. Overnight at guest house.
In order to acclimatize we will make ascend slowly towards Manang. It is ill-advised to gain altitude quickly. On reaching Manang we will see multiple houses with prayer flags and feel the chilly cold winds blowing. Overnight at guest house.
Day 7 Rest day in Manang for acclimatization & exploration. Overnight at guest house.
Acclimatization is crucial when in the lap of the Himalayas, what begins as a headache might prove fatal so caution is advised. Today we will rest and spend time in Manang. The Tibetan Buddhist influence can be felt as prayer wheels and colorful prayer flags can be seen waving against the strong winds. Overnight at guesthouse.
Day 8 Manang to Tilicho Base Camp (4,150 mt.). Walking 6 hours. Overnight at guest house.
Today we will be ascending quite a bit towards Tilicho Base Camp. This 14 km walk offers scenic views through the pine forests and shrubs. This contrast in vegetation makes this walk an interesting one. This trek route is taken by very few trekkers which allow us to enjoy the trek in peace. Overnight at guest house.
Day 9 Tilicho Base Camp to Tilicho High Camp (5,240 mt.). Walking 5-6 hours. Overnight at guest house.
Today we make our way to the High camp, we will be able to witness the beautiful Tilicho lake which the world highest freshwater lake. We can take this time to understand the environment where the shy snow leopard and mountain goats thrive. The Manang valley might as well be one of the hidden gems of Nepal. Overnight at guest house.
Day 10 Tilicho High Camp to Chauri Kharka (4,300 mt.) via Mesokanto-La pass (5,120 mt). Walking 8-9 hours. Overnight at tented camp.
This part of the trek is least popular among the tourists and remains unexplored when compared to the Thorang-la pass-an alternative route. This is going one of the most difficult and demanding parts of a trek. The Mesokanto-la pass is infamous it’s difficulty level but provides a fantastic view of the Tilicho peak and the wilderness around the vicinity. Overnight at a tented camp.
Day 11 Chauri Kharka to Jomsom (2,720 mt.). Walking 5 hours. Overnight at guest house.
Today we will follow a trail of neatly paved stones and patches of apricot and apple trees as we enter Jomsom. The Nepalese Army Rock Climbing Institute quite visible along its way, cadets from many countries come here to train. You can try the delicious dried apple and local apricot brew whilst in Jomsom. Overnight at guest house.
Day 12 Jomsom to Tatopani (Hot spring) (1,189 mt.). Driving 4-5 hours. Overnight at guest house.
We will make our way to a hot water spring following the Kali Gandaki River in what is going to be a bumpy ride, but with a million-dollar view. Our journey for today will end in Tatopani where we can take a dip in the nearby hot water spring and get some well-deserved rest. Overnight at guest house.
Day 13 Tatopani to Sikha (1,935 mt.). Walking 5 hours. Overnight at guest house.
After Breakfast, we move early towards Sikha. We will be making our way through hidden trails away from the dusty road. This part of the trek is lush and we will be crossing many little bridges along the way and take in the simple life in the lap of the Himalayas. Overnight at guest house.
Day 14 Sikha to Ghorepani (2,835 mt.). Walking 4½ hours. Overnight at guest house.
After breakfast we will make our way towards Ghorepani, this is a the easy track and can be completed in less than 5 hours. The mountains playing their usual peekaboo game and the lush greenery truly is a serene experience. Overnight at guest house.
Day 15 Hike to Poon Hill for Sunrise (3,210 mt.) to Tadapani (2,520 mt.). Walking 5 ½ hours. Overnight at guest house.
We hike our way to Poon Hill early in the morning today. The 45 minutes of the hike is worth the view, a 220-degree panoramic view of Annapurna and Dhaulagiri, bathing in sunlight and glistening. This is a great spot for pictures and the color of the mountains look beyond phenomenal. From here we walk our way to Tadapani. Overnight at guest house.
Day 16 Tadapani to Syane via Ghandruk (1,920 mt.) and drive to Pokhara. Walking 5 ½ hours. Overnight at hotel.
The trail to Ghandruk is littered with small tea houses, where we will stop for some quick snack. Ghandruk is a beautiful village, consisting mainly of Thakali where many have joined the British Gurkha regiment. From here we will move on to Pokhara, the famous lake city. Nightlife can be enjoyed at Lakeside which is a popular tourist destination. Overnight at the hotel.
Day 17 Drive back to Kathmandu from Pokhara. Driving 7-8 hours by tourist bus. Overnight at hotel.
Today, we head back to the capital city following the same path. The drive is a quiet one with fantastic views of the hills and fast flowing rivers along the highway. Lunch will be served in one the hygienic and clean roadway restaurants. Overnight at the hotel.
Day 18 Transfer to Airport for your final departure from Nepal.
After the well-deserved rest for the sore legs, our representatives will transfer you the Airport, ending your Himalayan experience.
