About Langtang Valley Ganja La Pass Trek

Langtang Valley Ganja La Pass Trek is a sublime journey that undertakes the flamboyant mountain peaks, delightfully gorgeous landscapes, and rich Tamang culture. While the pearl-white snow radiates joy rejuvenating your soul, the grey peaks intimidate you with their pride and might. Trekking alongside such peaks, you will get to observe the Tamang and Sherpa settlements, their culture and monasteries reflecting massive Tibetan influence. Also, the wild forests with the variety of flora and fauna welcome your visit to Langtang with grace and finesse. Overall, the journey yields a memory worthy of a life-long reminiscence.

The 14-days trek starts with a drive from Kathmandu to Sybrubensi. Syabru Besi is a hub for trade and business where you can shop trekking accessories. As we start our journey from Sybrubensi towards the Langtang Valley, we will discover the true beauty that the place beholds. We will walk along many rivers and beautiful forests of rhododendron, oak, and pine. Throughout the trek, we will be following Langtang II (6596m), Langtang Lirung (7227m), Langtang Ri (6810m), Dorje Lakpa (6966m) and Ganesh Himal range. The trail also passes through the Langtang National Park, giving justice to its rich biodiversity. The cultural side of Langtang Valley trek is as interesting as the natural ones. The inhabitants are mainly Tamang, Sherpa, and Gurung. Observing their lifestyle, food, cultures, and traditions is a great way to learn about new cultures. The area is highly influenced by Buddhism, we will come across many Chortens, Gumba, Mani walls, and prayer flags. The Kyangin Gompa is a beautiful monastery situated at 3830 m. We can also climb Tserko Ri (4984 m) to get the panoramic view of Langtang Lirung (7227m), Yala peak (5500m), Yubra (6264m) and other mountain ranges. From here, we head towards Ganja La Pass which is challenging and interesting at the same time. Passing through the Sherpa villages of Sermathang and Melamchi Pul Bazar, we will come across agricultural areas and monasteries. Similar to most of the treks to the Himalayas, the best seasons for Langtang Valley Ganja-La Pass Trek are spring (March-May) and autumn (September-November).
