Bhairav Kunda Trekking Itinerary

  • Day 1 Arrival to Kathmandu.

    Pick up at Tribhuvan International Airport and transfer you to your hotel in Kathmandu. Overnight at a hotel.

    • Day 2 Drive from Kathmandu to Jalbire (1,000m).

      We will leave for Newar village of Jalbire which is about 5-6 hours of drive. Trekking along Balefi River, we can enjoy the scenic beauty of nature and come to the temple of the Hindu God Vishnu. We trek for 4-5 hours to reach Jalbire and set up our tent camp for overnight.

      • Day 3 Jalbire to Chanute (1,350m).

        Trekking through beautiful waterfalls, we come across some small Tamang villages on our way to Chanute. We cross a couple of wooden bridges over water streams before reaching our destination. Chanute is a small beautiful hometown of Brahmin and Chettri. Overnight at tented camps.

        • Day 4 Chanute to Khani Gaon (2,000m).

          We trek along steep uphill on narrow trails which can be really challenging. In our 6-hour long trek, we come across beautiful villages, stunning views, and streams. Khani Gaon is said that Newars from Bhaktapur made Khani Gaon their refugee settlement during the unification of Nepal during the 17th century. Overnight stay at tented camp.

          • Day 5 Rest day for exploration around Khani Gaon village.

            We explore and meet the local people of Khani Gaon village. We learn the Newari culture and taste famous Newari cuisine. We also hike to Dalle Pokhari, a small adorable lake in Khani Gaon. Overnight at tented camp.

            • Day 6 Khani Gaon to Forest Camp (3,150m). Walking 6-7 hours.

              We trek to the forest camp through steep uphill to the rhododendron Forest which is about 6-7 hours of walking. We can also get to see the nomad houses for cattle on the way along with the different birds and animals. Overnight stay at tented camp.

              • Day 7 Forest Camp to Pati (3,765m).

                We trek for almost 5 hours to reach Pati. We trek through lush forests of rhododendron and pine before crossing a wooden bridge over a small water stream. The trek can be tough and challenging due to the steep uphill. Upon reaching on Pati, we have enough time to relax and enjoy the view. Stay overnight at tented camp.

                • Day 8 Pati to Bhairav Kunda (4,250m).

                  We need to walk for about 3 hours to reach our final destination. Bhairav Kunda is believed to be a beautiful holy lake and valued by Hindus, Buddhist, and Shamans which also has a small temple of LordShiva. People come every year in the month of Bhadra on the occasion of Janai Purnima (a Hindu festival) to take a bath to wash away their sins. Overnight stay at camp.

                  • Day 9 Bhairav Kunda to Sherpa Gaon (2,500m).

                    To get an early view of sunrise, we have to walk for about one and a half hour to the top. We can relish the magnificent mountain view of Langtang, Jugal Himal Range, Rolwaling Range, and Tibetan Range and return to Camp. We trek through steep ridges for about 6 hours into the forest before reaching SherpaGaon. Overnight at tented camp.

                    • Day 10 Sherpa Gaon to Larcha (1,500m) and visit Hot spring (Kodari Tatopani)

                      Today we trek to the Larcha through the back of Bhote Koshi which is about 4-5 hours of the walk which will be the last walk of our journey. Walking further for 30 minutes we can enjoy the natural hot spring bath and relax overnight stay at tented camp.

                      • Day 11 Drive back to Kathmandu.

                        We drive back to Kathmandu which takes about 5-6 hours of drive. Upon reaching, we check in to the hotel. Overnight at a hotel.

                        • Day 12 Final departure from Nepal.

                          You will be escorted to the Tribhuvan International Airport by our team three hours prior to our scheduled time.
