Upon arrival at Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu, our representative will come to receive you and then you will be transferred to your hotel. Stay overnight at hotel in Kathmandu.
Guerrilla Trek Itinerary
Day 1 Arrival in Kathmandu.
Day 2 Kathmandu to Beni (830 m).
After breakfast, we begin our journey with a drive from Kathmandu to Beni. During the drive, you will get to experience the undulating roads with the ever-present hills along the way. We will come across many rivers to accompany us. You will also see small human settlements which reflect typical Nepali lifestyle. It will take 9- 10 hours to reach Beni. Overnight at guest house in Beni.
Day 3 Beni to Takam (1,675 m).
You will start your journey today after having breakfast and follow a gravel road for 24km to Darbang and then walk from there. It will be a 6 hours walk altogether with Gurjal Himal (7,193m) looming overhead. You will cross Dang Khola on your way to Takam and pass through Dharapani. Overnight stay at a guest house in Takam.
Day 4 Takam to Lamsung (2,190 m).
The trek today follows an uphill trail which will be 6 hours of steady walk. As you begin your walk, you will pass through Sibang, Machhim, Phalegaon and Muna villages. These villages were primarily used as the route for the Maoist cadres during the insurgency period. You can listen to the war stories from the locals. Overnight at guest house.
Day 5 Lamsung to Gurjaghat (3,015 m).
The trek today begins with a walk to Moreni and after continuing on the path you will enter the premises of the Dhorpatan Hunting Reserve. You will get spectacular views of Dhaulagiri range and Churen Himal (7,371m) in the west. You will walk through pine forests and you might find musk deer barking in the bushes on your way to Gurjaghat. It takes about 7 hours walk to reach Gurjaghat. Overnight at a guest house.
Day 6 Gurjaghat to Dhorpatan (2,870 m).
On the trek today, you will cross over from Myagdi to Baglung and into the former Tibetan refugee camp, an entrance to Dhorpatan. Dhorpatan Hunting Reserve is the only region in Nepal where hunting of wild animals is permitted using a legal pass provided by the reserve. You can spot mountain goats and blue sheep’s in Dhorpatan Hunting Reserve. Overnight at a guest house in Dhorpatan.
Day 7 Dhorpatan to Niseldhor (2,620 m).
The trek will be fairly easier one and takes you through Bhuji, Kanga and Masa villages. A 5 hours walk takes you to Niseldhor. It’s a paradise to watch birds like Himalayan Monal (Danphe), the national bird of Nepal and many other migrated birds from different regions. Overnight at guest house.
Day 8 Niseldhor to Tallo Sera (2,185 m).
You will walk along the Uttar Ganga Nadi and the path takes you through Khariya Danda, Korelibang and Situ villages which were the Maoist fortress for the longer period of the insurgency. It takes 7 hours walk to reach Tallo Sera, the former base of Maoist. The place is dense forests all the way so it was the easy place to hide during the insurgency. Overnight at guest house.
Day 9 Tallo Sera to Rujhikhola (2,862 m).
It will be a 6 hours walk following a trail through Tila pass (3,050m), Garbang and Lukum in Rukum. Rujhikhola is a village populated only by Magars and Dalits. you get to experience medieval Nepal and it is as ancient as Nepal gets nowadays. Houses are built with flat wooden roof here. Overnight stay at the guest house in Rujhikhola.
Day 10 Rujhikhola to Thawang (1,975 m).
The trek today takes you to Syaubari Pass (2,670 m) and you walk along Mangra River to reach Thawang which was the cradle for the Maoist revolution. it will take roughly 5 hours to reach Thawang. It was damaged heavily due to the army attacks during the insurgency period. You can hear the tales of the war from the locals as Thawang being the center to all the operations Maoists performed. Stay overnight at guest house.
Day 11 Thawang to Jaljala (3,090 m).
It takes 5 hours walk to reach Jaljala. The path ascends today and you will have to walk steadily to reach Jaljala. The highest point in Jaljala is Dharampani (3,527m). Dharampani houses a memorial pillar which was built to honor the deaths of the combatants. You can get a great view of Mt. Api (7,132m) and Mt. Saipal (7,030m) in the west to Dhaulagiri range in the east. Overnight at guest house.
Day 12 Jaljala to Jelbang (1,635 m).
Walking 6 hours takes you to Jelbang. You will move down from the high mountains to the ethnically mixed villages. During the gradual descent, you will pass through Jemthang, Sukulbang, and Sirbang to reach your destination for the day. Jelbang village is now becoming a "Model Peace Village”. Overnight stay at the guesthouse.
Day 13 Jelbang to Sulichaur (830 m).
It takes 6 hours walk to reach Sulichaur. The trek follows the road to Rolpa, the epicenter of the rebel base during the Maoist insurgency period. You will walk along Phagam Khola to reach Sulichaur. Sulichaur has become a trade center and there are many commune restaurants in the town. Stay overnight at guest house.
Day 14 Sulichaur to Kathmandu.
We return to Kathmandu from Sulichaur by bus. It takes 9-10 hours through East-West Highway. You get to experience the level land of Terai on your return journey to Kathmandu. You will be transferred to the hotel and we will organize a farewell dinner on the successful completion of our trek. Stay overnight in the hotel in Kathmandu.
Day 15 Transfer to Airport for your final departure from Nepal
After breakfast, the travel arrangements will be made and you will be transferred to Tribhuwan International Airport by a private vehicle 3 hours before the scheduled flight and then fly back to your home/destination.
